Never "board" with having these games in my collection!

My ever-growing collection of board games.  I'm sure this will be added too quite a bit! ;-)

13 DEAD END DRIVE-
I had this game as a kid and finally got it back the other day.  I found it at a local Goodwill for a couple dollars and was lucky...all the parts were there and intact!

Here is a commercial for 13 Dead End Drive-

And just for kicks, someone did their OWN 3D animation commercial for "13 Dead End Drive"- I thought it was cool and wanted to share it here-

1313 DEAD END DRIVE-
This game appears to be almost a sequel to the game 1313 Dead End Drive.  I have yet to play this so stay tuned for my review!

I could not find a commercial for 1313 Dead End Drive. :-(

ATMOSFEAR THE HARBINGERS-
Okay little story with this.  First of all, I used to own "Nightmare" as well.  Atmosfear is a part of the "Nightmare Series."  I ended up selling The Harbingers game at the infamous garage sale back in the day...lol  Well fast forward quite a few years.  My husband Tony and I were at a used bookstore called Half Price Books in the Twin Cities, MN and I ended up finding this same game there!  It was twenty dollars which is actually pretty cheap considering these games are so sought after.  Not only that, but this particular game came with a bootleg DVD- whoever had purchased the game took the original VHS tape and probably used a capture card to put the game onto a DVD.  This was a win win for me!

And here is the commercial for the creepy 1995 game, "The Harbingers"

ATMOSFEAR THE DVD BOARD GAME-
Alright so this gets a bit confusing, I know.  Like I stated above, many people refer to this series as the "Atmosfear" series even though the original game is called, "Nightmare."  However, in Australia, where the company "A Couple A' Cowboys" is from, the original game we in the US know as "Nightmare", was actually called, "Atmosfear."  So in the 2000's, they re-released the original "Nightmare" aka "Atmosfear" game and instead of a VHS tape, there was a DVD plus the game was updated with a different actor playing "The Gatekeeper."  Having played both the original and the remake, they are pretty much one in the same.

And here's the "Atmosfear DVD Board Game" commercial-

CLUE-
This is the version of Clue (originally called "Cluedo") from the 1980's, when I was growing up.  My parents bought this board game for me and I remember playing it with them.  One of the few things we did as a family together...hehe  Maybe that's why I hold this game so dear to my heart and still continue to love playing it.  If you can't tell, I love either creepy games or the "whodunnit" games.  I like playing the mystery detective and I always have and probably always will. :-)

Here is a 1979 (year I was born!) commercial for "Clue"-

CLUE FX-
This is a version of "Clue" that has special effects or FX.  I picked this up at a local Goodwill store and miraculously all the pieces were there and intact.  I have yet to play this but am sure the hubby and I will be tearing into this one soon!

CLUE VCR MYSTERY GAME-
In my earlier blog I listed the "Clue VHS" game 2 (sequel) as a wishlist item of mine.  I do own the first game but still need to "capture" the VHS copy onto DVD so it will be easier to play.  I do own a VCR, however, on our 50 inch TV the picture quality will be very poor unless I get it onto a DVD.  Review will be coming as soon as I get this onto DVD format.

Below is the full version of the "Clue CVR Mystery Game"

CLUE II: MURDER IN DISGUISE-

After searching for about 6 months, my husband actually found this game for me in the Twin Cities! So glad to have this in my collection. :-)

The video below is the full game (VHS tape) someone uploaded onto YouTube~

MURDER MYSTERY MANSION-
I have to admit that I have only played this game once and barely remember it.  It has some elements of 3D board gaming, however, it is pretty simple to set up which is nice.  I do remember my husband Tony kicked my butt at it (holding head in shame)....haha  I am usually so good at the murder mystery games but must have had an "off" day. ;-)  I believe I found this game at a Toys R' Us in Minnesota and snatched it up.

WHODUNIT-
This game is from the 1970's and the version we own looks to be original but in fair shape.  Tony and I found it in an antique mall about an hour from where we live.  Ironically that same day I ended up finding the Clue VHS game (2 of them!) for only about 4 dollars, however, I already owned it.  I haven't gotten around to playing this yet but will post my thoughts about it when I do get a chance to sit down and play it.

SHRIEKS & CREAKS-
I love love love love this game- ahem, can you tell that I love this game?! ;-)
"Shrieks & Creaks" came out in 1988 when I was only 8 years old.  I bought this game brand new at Toys R' Us and played it a gazillion times!  And yep, sold it at the garage sale- I know, I know, I shouldn't have sold ANY board games at any garage sale, I'm regretting it now!
I ended up winning this game off Ebay a couple years ago for only $15 and that was a steal!  This game is not cheap but its also not horribly expensive either.  I recommend checking on Ebay for it if anyone who reads this blog is interested.  This board game is a cassette tape game and is creepy and funny.  But hey, don't just take my word for it, check out this original commercial for the game I found on YouTube-

And here is a picture of the game cover-

NIGHTMARE-
Just like "13 Dead End Drive", "Nightmare" was a game I owned as a child and again, made the stupid mistake of selling it at the garage sale- probably the same one I sold ALL my games at...lol
This I'm really ticked off about because this game series is highly sought after and not cheap.  But I did end up getting this and 2 expansion games this past Christmas from my parents so its all good now. ;-)  This game is from 1991 and so much fun to play!

Here's a commercial for the game, "Nightmare"-

NIGHTMARE II-
This is the second game in the "Nightmare" series and is considered an "expansion pack" or "add-on game."  This game is hosted by the comical zombie, "Baron Samedi" and is actually played the same actor who played, "The Gatekeeper" in the original game.

Interesting how the box covers were different from country to country.  The photo below is of one of the overseas edition of "Nightmare II"-

Here is a commercial for "Nightmare II"-

NIGHTMARE III-
"Nightmare III" or "Atmosfear III" is hosted by the witch, Anne de Chantraine, who is mysterious and beautiful...but also very dangerous!  And let's face it, becomes slightly less attractive throughout the game...lol  This came out shortly after "Nightmare II" and is another "expansion game."

And here is a commercial for "Nightmare III", but its really an ad or TV spot for the first 3 "Nightmare" games, however, they do mention "the witch" in this one-

CLUE DVD GAME-
I ended up finding this game at a local thrift store recently.  It's in good shape & complete!
Couldn't find a commercial for this game though.... :-(

CLUE-1950'S EDITION-
Was so cool finding one of the major vintage versions of "Clue" :-)

Squee!  I just found the travel edition of the game "Clue" from 1990,  It was only $1.99 at Goodwill and doesn't appear to ever have been used.  It's so CUTE, everything is miniature!!!!!

The 2014 travel version of "Clue"- my husband said it was so cute we had to have this one too..lol

I found this game (bottom) called, "The Haunting House: The Second Story" (clever name!)
Found this at a Savers in the Twin Cities.  It is an expansion game, so I will need to purchase the first game in order to play this one.  But I figured why not buy the 2nd just to have it. :-)  I love my spooky games!

Here is a photo of the first game called, "The Haunting House"
And here's a website that talks more about the games for The Haunting House:

I found this game from 1989 that was made when "The Babysitter's Club" books were popular.  I remember reading these books as a kid!  The game is missing a couple cards plus one die but other than that, it's intact and in good shape!

The commercial for the Babysitter's Club game:

I finally picked up a copy of "Pretty Pretty Princess: Sleeping Beauty"- just because I LOVE Sleeping Beauty!
I couldn't find a commercial for this game, however, I did find the original 1992 commercial for the original "Pretty Pretty Princess" game:

Here's a couple pics of my game- it's missing one necklace, otherwise I believe everything is there which is pretty good considering games like these that have so many components often become lost with children misplacing items.

Just a couple of things I would like to add at the end of this blog.  I claim NO ownership to any of the photos used on these blogs OR videos.  I also wanted to share a website where you can find just about any board game known to man-

Board Game Geek

This site is awesome and you can even create a wishlist like I did- here's mine!

My Board Game Geek Wishlist

My Board Game Wishlist

Obviously one of my big interests are board games.  I'm pretty particular about what games I collect but my wishlist is ever-growing constantly! ;-)
So below I have my official wishlist~

TALES OF THE CRYSTALS- Another childhood game I had and yep you guessed it, sold it at the damn garage sale too!  I remember buying this at Toys R' Us in 1993 when the game came out, and I have fond memories of playing this role playing princess game with friends.  It's a magical game and a little girl can be a princess, so what's not to love about that!  I could really kick myself for letting this one go because its highly highly sought after and very expensive (unless you are lucky enough to find a great deal), on Ebay its a tough find and when it does pop up, its about 75 to 100 dollars! Yikes!

I have found a couple websites that go into detail about the game, "Tales of the Crystals"- even found one fan of this game who made her OWN version of it!  If you happen to own this game, but have lost certain parts of it over the years, there is a gal online who has the player cards and other items scanned to download (virus free of course).  I downloaded them and after browsing through them, wow, do I remember more than I think I did!  Love the nostalgia that comes rushing back. :-)
She also posted photos of the game which I'm including below:

Lastly, here is the website I obtained the above photos: Anna Archive- Tales of the Crystals

This game runs on a cassette and in this day and age that technology is...well...dead I'm afraid.  However, thank goodness for users on YouTube!  They upload either the VHS or cassette tapes from various games.  This user has the entire cassette tape uploaded- check it out:

DOORWAYS TO HORROR THE VCR GAME-
I found this game online by accident and now really want it!

The original 1986 commercial for "Doorways to Horror"

And I found the full VHS game of "Doorways to Horror"- someone uploaded the entire tape on YouTube:

NIGHTMARE IV-  This is the 3rd expansion pack game for the popular 90's "Nightmare/Atmosfear" series.  Now we have Elizabeth Bathory, a vicious vampire for the host!  I can't wait to sink my teeth into this one... ;-)  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find a commercial for this game. :-(

ATMOSFEAR: KHUFU THE MUMMY-  This game was the LAST of the Nightmare aka Atmosfear series to come out and it was released in 2006 in DVD format, unlike the other games from the 90's which had VHS tapes.  I am eager to nab this game because from what I've seen this is the toughest game to obtain- in the USA that is.  It was only released in the UK, however, one outside of the UK can still purchase the game on sites like Ebay, but the tough part is converting the PAL formatted game DVD (UK region only) so that one can play it in other countries like the US.

Here is the TV commercial spot for "Khufu the Mummy"-

ATMOSFEAR: THE SOUL RANGER-  I had never heard of this Atmosfear game but from what I read, this was sort of a sequel or "add on" to The Harbingers game.  With all the different games, names, and countries these were sold in, please forgive me if I'm making this all confusing!  This game is from 1996 and I'm guessing extremely rare.  I have found it on Ebay but its not cheap, let me tell ya!

HARBINGERS BOOSTER TAPE-  The best way to describe this game is to read about it on Board Game Geeks official website.

ATMOSFEAR THE CARD GAME-  Just like the booster tape, I had never heard of this game either. There are photos and a great description for this game on Board Game Geek's website as well.

ATMOSFEAR THE ULTIMATE CONFLICT-  Again, I wasn't familiar with this game, however, I later learned that this is a combo pack of the games: The Soul Rangers & The Harbingers, and it was only sold in the UK.  Of course, one who lives outside the UK can purchase this game and I have seen it pop up on Ebay, but its not cheap- wouldn't want to sell your "soul" to get ir, would you? ;-)

BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA THE BOARD GAME-  One of my favorite movies and I so want this game!  Click on Board Game Geek to read more.

JEWELS IN THE ATTIC- I found this game listed on Board Game Geek and I had never heard of it, but it sounded a bit like "Tales of the Crystals" so it seemed to be right up my alley!
I found a Word file of the directions for this particular game and am posting them below:

AN EVENING WITH BRAM STOKER'S DRACULA- Another Dracula game which is centered around the Francis Ford Coppola 1992 film.  I don't usually get into role playing games but this seems like that type of game and with the right people, I think it could be a lot of fun!  The game came out in 1992, following the release of the film.  Below are some photos from the Board Game Geek website...

I also found on Board Game Geek, a file that you can download and see all the game cards from the above game- but the only clincher is that they are in Spanish- take a look:

ENCHANTED FOREST- I just found this game earlier today and at this point, haven't read too much into it.  But I wanted to include it because it looks like a fun game!

And here is a game review video for "Enchanted Forest"- I couldn't find an actual commercial for it-

CLUE: THE GREAT MUSEUM CAPER!- Again, any "Clue" game works for me!  I do remember seeing this in stores back in the day, but never picked it up.  Well, now I will!

ASK ZANDAR- Again, I've heard of this game but do not know much about it, only that it looks like fun!

Here's the (corny...lol) commercial for "Ask Zandar"-

MYSTERY MANSION- I just stumbled upon this game a couple hours ago and wanted to quick add it to my list!  Another "whodunit" mystery detective game, but it looks like its quite old and not cheap to purchase!  Here's a photo of the game cover and some photos from Board Game Geek- people post pictures of their own games and I found several pictures of this particular game-

Here is the commercial for the game from 1984-

Then in 1995 they brought the game, "Mystery Mansion" back but as an "electronic talking game"
I sooooo remember seeing this, had it in my hands to buy it, then I decided not to!  Seeing how expensive it is now I'M kicking myself that I didn't grab it up at Toys R' Us!!

And here's the 1995 commercial for the electronic game version of "Mystery Mansion"-

MYSTERY ABBEY- Another game that is described to being a lot like the game, "Clue."

And here's the commercial for it- it appears as though this is a lower-budget, perhaps local TV ad-

I'm sure I'll be adding more games to this sooner than later. :-)
